Dhurmus Suntali Foundation has announced an ambitious project, “Namuna Nepal”, after successfully building three model settlements.The new project will house all communities from Hill, Mountain and the Tarai in one settlement as a prototype of contemporary Nepal, the foundation said on Monday.

The foundation, set up by actor couple Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire– popularly known as Dhurmus and Suntali from their television show, Meri Bassai, has already built settlements for the 2015 earthquake survivors and disadvantaged people in Kavre, Sindhupalchok and Mahottari districts. Kattel said the foundation’s new undertaking will be a bigger version of their previous three settlement projects with an estimated outlay of Rs 5 billion.

He added that the foundation has already submitted its detailed project report to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and requested the government to provide 500 to 1,000 ropanis of land not far from the Kathmandu Valley.
