At least 120 people have been ki!lled and tens of thousands were affected by floods and landslides in Nepal in monsoon rain in the afternoon, the government said Wednesday, almost a decade in such worst disaster. Some 35 people were still mi!ssing and 39 i!njured as emergency workers were scrambled to provide relief to the floods by destroying the supply.
The torrential rain is falling in the low-lying area of India for three days early August. A home ministry spokesman, Ram Subedi, said on Wednesday, the government sent helicopters to a dozen districts where people were desperate for food and drinking water. "We have sent food packets to people because they are without food for many days.
We have also sent tarps, clothes and cooking utensils, "Subedi said. "We have been distributing free medicines to flood-affected people for a week. We have also sent water purifiers to prevent water-borne diseases, "he said. "We have been on the road without food and drinking water for the past four days. "Many elderly, pregnant and postpartum mothers and children have fallen sick," a man, a flood-stricken area.
